The history of Qatar's development as a rich, developing state began in 1939 when the oil reserves had been discovered for the first time. As soon as the 1950s came, oil revenues were used by the government to expand and modernize Qatar’s infrastructure. In 1971, Qatar became an independent state, but a subsequent Iraq war postponed the growth of the country for several decades. A powerful thrust that accelerated the development of Qatar's overall aeronautical and aerospace development was the signing of the 2015 agreement between the CEO of well-known French aerospace corporation Dassault, Eric Trappier, and Qatari defense officials in the capital city of Qatar, Doha. As a result, Qatar gained $7 billion for the advancement of aerospace at the national level. This large investment in Qatar’s aerospace industry has had a positive effect on the development of the national economy and infrastructure. Qatar is a fast-developing country that is ready for aerospace and aeronautics initiatives to improve the well-being of all Qataris. |
